SpeechDance-AudioMode

Privacy policy

Version 2 · effective 18 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data SpeechDance-AudioMode (“the service”: the Mac and Windows apps, our servers and this website) handles, why, who else handles it, how long it is kept and what you can do about it. The service is provided by Yerrata Private Limited (“we”; company details at the foot of this page). It is published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its 2011 rules on reasonable security practices, and with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind as and when its provisions come into force. It describes our practices; it is not a contract or a warranty and gives no rights beyond our Terms and the law.

The short version

What happens when you dictate

The app turns your speech into text, on your computer where it can. To tidy it up, the text is sent through our servers to an AI language-model provider over its commercial API, and the tidy text comes back to you. We do not keep your dictated text or recordings of your voice, unless you turn on a feature that needs them. To learn your corrections, the app may read the text field you dictated into (never a password field); that stays on your computer.

You decide what you dictate. Please do not dictate passwords, card or bank numbers, health details or other sensitive information, and dictate information about other people only where you have the right to.

What we keep, why, and on what basis

WhatWhyBasisHow long
Account details: your name, email address and Google account IDTo know who you are, give you access and write to you about your accountYour consent when you joinUntil your account is deleted
Device sign-in tokensSo your apps can connect without a passwordYour consentUntil you sign the device out or your account is deleted
Usage figures for each dictation: time, amount used and cost, never the textMonthly limits, our costs, preventing abuseLegitimate use for running the service you asked forUntil your account is deleted

Messages you send usTo answer you and keep a record of complaintsYour consent; legal obligationsAs long as needed to resolve them and as the law requires

Backups are kept for 30 days, so data we delete disappears from backups within 30 days. Where the law requires us to keep a record for longer (for example, security logs or records needed for a legal claim), we keep only that record, only for that time. We may use figures that identify no one, such as total usage, to run and improve the service.

Our servers do not store your IP address; our network and security provider may keep it in its security logs for a limited time.

Who else handles your data

We share only what each provider needs for its job, under contracts or terms that restrict their use of it.

The names of these providers are available on request. They may process data outside India, including in the United States; any transfer follows the restrictions the Government of India notifies under the law.

Legal requests. We may disclose data where the law requires it, for example to a court, the police, CERT-In or the Data Protection Board. We ask for the legal provision relied on and disclose only what it requires.

Business transfer. If our business or the service is merged, sold or transferred, your data may pass to the new owner, who must continue to protect it under this policy; we will tell you before that happens.

Sign in with Google

When you sign in with Google we receive only your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture (the “openid email profile” permissions), and use them only to sign you in and run your account. We do not receive your Google password or access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or other Google data. SpeechDance-AudioMode’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What we do not do

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct or complete it, or to delete it and your account. You can withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it, by writing one email to yerrata.pvt.ltd@gmail.com (subject "SpeechDance privacy request"); the service then stops for you, and withdrawal does not affect what was done before it. Once the law provides for it, you may also name a person to exercise these rights if you die or cannot act. These rights include those under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as and when in force.

To protect you, we act only on requests sent from the email address on your account, or after verifying who you are. We reply within the time set by our grievance process and the law. If you are not satisfied after using our grievance process, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Please give accurate information and do not make false or frivolous complaints, as the law asks of you too.

Who we are. The service is provided by Yerrata Private Limited, CIN U55101KA2025PTC207550, No. 17, 2nd Floor, 7th Main Road, Indiranagar, Bengaluru 560038, Karnataka, India. Grievance Officer: Parveen Shaikh, yerrata.pvt.ltd@gmail.com.

Your dictation history and word list live only on your computer: you can clear them from the app, and we cannot see or recover them if they are lost.

Security

We follow reasonable security practices: connections are encrypted and access to our systems is restricted. We review these practices and may change them. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will inform you, and the Data Protection Board where required, in the manner and within the time the law sets.

Children

The service is not meant for anyone under 18. If we learn that we hold data of someone under 18, we delete it.

Changes and language

When we change this policy we publish the new version with a new date. For material changes we tell account holders by email before they take effect, except where a change is required by law or for security, which may apply at once. This English text governs if there is any difference with a translation. Websites we link to have their own policies.
